Barb Anderson has been named general manager of The Floyd County Times in Prestonsburg, Ky., and the Hazard Herald in Hazard, Ky.
The announcement was made Friday, April 17, 2015, by Bud Hunt, regional director for Civitas Media, the newspapers’ parent company.
Anderson joined The Floyd County Times as a sales consultant in 2006 and was promoted to marketing director for The Hazard Herald in 2007.
In 2011 she was promoted to local marketing director for both The Floyd County Times and The Hazard Herald. Previously, Anderson was advertising manager and office manager for the Beattyville (Ky.) Enterprise, and sales consultant for the Salyersville/Magoffin County (Ky.) Trading Post.
“Barb has two decades of excellence in marketing and sales, and her skills in sales, planning, motivation and leadership make her an excellent choice to take on this important responsibility,” Hunt said.
