Brant Named Senior Vice President of Sales

Veteran newspaper executive Randall Brant has been named senior vice president of sales for Civitas Media, effective Monday, Sept. 23. The announcement was made by Michael Bush, president and CEO of the Davidson, N.C.-based company.

Brant will lead all sales operations for the company, supervising eight regional managers and more than 180 team members across 11 states. He will be based in Davidson.

“Randall has a proven track record in our industry,” Bush said. He has the right mix of leadership, vision and experience to effect positive change, and I’m pleased he’s decided to make his next success a part of ours.”

Brant is ready for the challenge.

“Michael has assembled a great team at Civitas,” he said. “I’m excited to be part of it, and I am looking forward to the things we’ll accomplish together.”

Before joining Civitas Media, Brant was the chief revenue officer for ACI Media Group in Long Beach Calif., where he was responsible for all components of the company’s growth strategy including direct sales, developing industry relationships, digital/social marketing and promotions.

Brant also has held executive positions with the Detroit News & Free Press, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Salt Lake Tribune, Dallas Morning News, Denver Post and Honolulu Advertiser and Star Bulletin.

Brant earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1981 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. in 1996 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.

Brant will be joined by longtime partner, Giselle Massi, in the greater Davidson area. Hobbies include jogging, biking, playing guitar and collecting old albums.

“There’s a lot of great music in that vinyl. Those albums bring history to life,” Brant said.
