Cynthia Orr has been named general manager of the Middlesboro (Ky.) Daily News, the Harlan (Ky.) Daily Enterprise, and the Claiborne Progress in Tazewell, Tenn.
The announcement was made Friday, April 17, 2015, by Bud Hunt, regional director for Civitas Media.
Orr has been serving the past two years as regional business development manager for these properties, assisting community leaders and business owners in developing strategies to optimize success through marketing plans both digitally and through print platforms.
She has extensive previous sales and marketing experience with The Saginaw News and The Bay City Times in Michigan.
Orr began her career with The Springfield News-Leader in Springfield, Mo. She has a BS in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Missouri State University, and has a long history of community involvement, including the United Way, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and many others.
“Cynthia’s experience and success in all aspects of sales and marketing make her an outstanding fit for her new role,” Hunt said.
